Hello! The last couple of months have flown by in a whirl... there's been lot's happening in my little corner of the world I have so many photo's to share I decided to do collages... first up is KHS for November at <a href="http://allthingsrustyandfabric.blogspot.co.nz/">Michelle's</a>. Our challenge for November was to make something using a pack of Charm squares which we all have squirreled away. Claire was the only one who did anything, she actually made not one but two pretty table runners...<br />
<br />

<br />
Michelle had started on a little Christmas decorating and I just love her blue hutch!<br />
<br />
For December since it is always such a busy month for everyone we decided to just bring along a Christmas kit ornament to be completed for our next meeting in January so you will have to stay tuned until then... but I can share lot's of photo's of Claire's beautiful home all decked out for Christmas as her home was open for a day tour.<br />

<br />
She did such an amazing job, as always!<br />
I have also spent a good chunk of time out in the garden not that you would think so looking at all the weeds. We have had very little rain and things are drying out but boy do those weeds seem to be able to survive somehow!<br />
I came home from Claire's so inspired I have started a new Christmas quilt, the blocks are almost done then to decide on some sashing and borders. I've also finished 2 UFO Christmas quilt tops which I think I'll quilt simply myself. We were so inspired at Claire's we have the whole of our challenges for next year planned out, all with a Christmas theme!<br />
<br />
I hope to be back again sooner rather than later, wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas, stay safe.<br />
<br />
xoxo<br />

Wow, the months are just flying by, November already how did that happen??? The days are finally warming up and it's so nice being able to get out in the garden and enjoy some much needed sunshine!<br />
<br />
This month's KHS we visited Nicky in her lovely home...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Lunch was amazing, we had Thai Prawn Noodles and salad, followed by Ginger loaf and homemade icecream!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
It was sooo good. Our challenge for this month was to make something out of a 'Homespun' magazine, I chose a Christmas quilt which I'll share as soon as I finish the applique... whenever that might be! Michelle (the other Michelle, affectionately known as Ussher) couldn't make it due to work commitments, not sure if she made anything or not. Claire made hers while we chatted after lunch, sorry no photo but it was a snowflake made out of buttons on a pretty doily and beautifully framed.<br />
Nicky didn't make anything this time, but my Mum who sometimes joins us made this lovely crochet hoop...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Claire did have some show and tell for us though, she had made this beautiful neutral raggie quilt...<br />
<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As we were chatting about next month's challenge we were inspired with lot's of new ideas and have the next 4 months all planned out! So for the month of November the challenge is to make something out of charm squares, it just so happens I have quite a little stash of them... surprise surprise 😉😉😉 </div>

Good morning, it's a lovely sunny Saturday here in the Naki, I plan to make the most of the long Labour weekend. As soon as this post is done I'm heading to town to visit garden centres and Spotlight, then home to work in the garden and enjoy the sunshine! First though here's some photo's of a quilt I made for my niece Hope. The photo's were rushed and didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped as this quilt was about to leave for a long journey to it's new home in Perth.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqtRWluUAJD2ZYt4pRJ95H0W4YKgrtyJ4PrzqH03P8pYBa8q_NV6phCJnTXp2KWF7qzkcCM1R4jIjpMJCL3lH2RFYrEjozz12ETXhJEfGAxRD8Cl4RTPhgdyHCQLIp9SRouVS6i1WNaGM/s1600/DSC_0022.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1088" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqtRWluUAJD2ZYt4pRJ95H0W4YKgrtyJ4PrzqH03P8pYBa8q_NV6phCJnTXp2KWF7qzkcCM1R4jIjpMJCL3lH2RFYrEjozz12ETXhJEfGAxRD8Cl4RTPhgdyHCQLIp9SRouVS6i1WNaGM/s400/DSC_0022.jpg" width="271" /></a></div>
<br />
It was hard letting this one go, I wanted to keep it for myself! I wish I had better photo's, I will have to ask Hope to take some more for me.<br />
<br />

Michelle Ussher unfortunately didn't find time to make one but she has been a busy girl running a dairy farm, during one of the wettest winter/springs that I can remember! I made a trio of pincushions and I think they turned out pretty cute too.</div>

For October's challenge we have to make something out of a 'Homespun' magazine. I am a total nerd and started a project as soon as I got home from Nancy's let's just hope I can finish it before the 28th that's in just 2 weeks time eek! I hope to be back in a few days to share a quilt I made for a niece. Hugs xoxo<br />

<br />
Aren't they lovely. Needless to say we had a great day full of food, fun and laughter.<br />
<br />
Our next KHS day is at the end of September and after a couple of months of having no challenge projects we have decided this month to each make a pincushion and share the pattern with each other.<br />
<br />
Until next time, whenever that might be...<br />

And as always the food was amazing, but you're going to have to take my word for it because I was too busy munching to take a photo. Thanks Nicky! See you girls next month for a big birthday!<br />

Just added the binding to this pretty dresden quilt, I'm a little embarrassed to admit but this quilt has been sitting around for almost 3 years waiting for this binding to be added. Not the best quality photo today as the weather is a little grey...<br />

<br />
This is the first time I've done a scalloped border and I'm really pleased with how it's turned out so far. It took a little longer than normal binding and I found rather than pinning it into position to hand baste the binding on first before sewing it with my machine really helped. I'll post more photo's when it's done! My friend Nicole and her daughter are coming for dinner tonight we're having a PJ party, I hope to get a start on hand sewing it down then.<br />
<br />
I thought I would leave you with a photo my daughter Olivia took of Poppy about to give her kisses<br />

Hello, how's your day going?<br />
Just thought I'd share a quick peek into what's been happening in my sewing room this week.<br />
A pretty cushion.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFRrctnWgmXlaqVZo0Z9PgHF5QCcx24gqE25ExoyN3t0Zhw0lb9umON495WSdKyOim-CP0u8OeUkkwFsO7KbMn6qjoE-LrfB4KWJ2BUimzZeoyD19bMh99XVONePlGbOoTI4pcAwPNOQY/s1600/20170320_182559.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFRrctnWgmXlaqVZo0Z9PgHF5QCcx24gqE25ExoyN3t0Zhw0lb9umON495WSdKyOim-CP0u8OeUkkwFsO7KbMn6qjoE-LrfB4KWJ2BUimzZeoyD19bMh99XVONePlGbOoTI4pcAwPNOQY/s320/20170320_182559.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And finally getting around to putting my granny square quilt together. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1PZaRQXDCb-OAodGarNS8Pk8YIuZDIXng83Kpov8lCu-Sqw26bNvvdray72Djz9gpD5FsZJ0N6p2GRCYonhb4dY7KwVFvgUM1ayZo-BxWu7h1cRp6X-qblsQOO8b-O6hJgickH8QRp88/s1600/IMG_20170307_112714_456.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1PZaRQXDCb-OAodGarNS8Pk8YIuZDIXng83Kpov8lCu-Sqw26bNvvdray72Djz9gpD5FsZJ0N6p2GRCYonhb4dY7KwVFvgUM1ayZo-BxWu7h1cRp6X-qblsQOO8b-O6hJgickH8QRp88/s320/IMG_20170307_112714_456.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I originally planned on using white sashing but after a thorough search of my sewing room and lots of frustration at not being able to find the white fabric to match the white in the granny squares I gave in and tried to find something else in my stash that might work. Who knew there were so many different whites, and they all looked so noticeably different to the white in my blocks! So lesson learned... now I label all my whites (I write on the selvedge the name of the colour) and keep all the fabric together until the project is finished! </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiXfKyxyEjHvUMDG4MHZT3TSK4sYLm9LCrGGw_-thMYdaS8wJcP2YkxPFn7tPy0ssqOCehhXAObYXz_7562mBZaW5kLcNa6YoVr74gMpKllAMuaMxJJHfqd39SBKmTNXJh4MuVGUQacRM/s1600/IMG_20170307_112431_485.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiXfKyxyEjHvUMDG4MHZT3TSK4sYLm9LCrGGw_-thMYdaS8wJcP2YkxPFn7tPy0ssqOCehhXAObYXz_7562mBZaW5kLcNa6YoVr74gMpKllAMuaMxJJHfqd39SBKmTNXJh4MuVGUQacRM/s320/IMG_20170307_112431_485.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In the end I've used this sweet little ditzy print which I quite like, I hope it's not going to make the quilt look to busy though... because there is no way I am going to unpick it with all those bias edges!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Hello??? Anybody out there...<br />
<br />
Yes it's been a while I know... I'm not really sure if I have any blogging friends left or not but I have decided to give blogging another go.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHueJTSmkACZc5cy1_3ifFLVFkBlDCSp4eQt_9ihzkYxJ9vmU0H2r6OqVKtf7R-XSYTL9dQO_qjbXjVgOoY6Wtib82zNQH02cMTeMfwuX9eBYhtBNP6nyStIL-tCchLCYDCP_dwm0ay1g/s1600/SDC11420+%2528768+x+576%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHueJTSmkACZc5cy1_3ifFLVFkBlDCSp4eQt_9ihzkYxJ9vmU0H2r6OqVKtf7R-XSYTL9dQO_qjbXjVgOoY6Wtib82zNQH02cMTeMfwuX9eBYhtBNP6nyStIL-tCchLCYDCP_dwm0ay1g/s320/SDC11420+%2528768+x+576%2529.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
My life has been one of constant storms in the last couple of years, in no way do I mean for this to be a pity party but more of an explanation as to the rather lengthy break in blogging! I just didn't have the mental space to deal with everything on my plate and some things just had to fall by the wayside for a while. Crafting had also gone on the back burner for over a year I hardly touched anything! But at the beginning of this year my fingers were itching to get back into it! And I've definitely gots lots to show for it in the coming posts, I've surprised myself with how much I've done 😎<br />

<br />
You may have noticed the pinterest button on my sidebar, I may or may not have a little addiction...;oP I recently joined Instagram as well. Ah there is just soo much inspiration out there!<br />
<br />
Better go get busy...<br />

My Mum sewed clothes for me and my sister and Mum had friends that were into making and selling their crafts and my Nana she made beautiful crochet blankets, so I have always been surrounded by crafty people. But for me it all started when my Uncle died… and his girlfriend came to stay with us for a while. She taught me to embroider… we didn’t have a lot growing up so I would use whatever I could get my hands on including my Dad’s handkerchiefs! I used to take my projects to school in the winter time and remember other students sitting there watching me! I must have been quite the sight… I was probably only 7-8 years old. I have tried many crafts over the years, I went through the cross stitching phase and sewing pretty dresses for my girls, knitted lace coat hangers, I even had a go at macramé Lol</p> <p>I still dabble in various crafts, but I think quilting is my favourite… :O) </p> <p>This post was inspired by this article… <a href="http://www.stuff.co.nz/the-press/christchurch-life/8456220/Craftwork-is-cool-again">Craft is cool again</a> … But I think we already knew that? </p> <p>I am interested to hear about your crafting adventures, when did you start? Just recently? Or has it always been a part of your life? And what craft would you like to try? I would really like to learn to crochet…</p> <p>Just a few thoughts for a Sunday afternoon…</p> <p>Blessings</p> <p><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" border="0" alt="3B03E9531CCD350D311671AEEF211731" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-YGqWuXPSv7A/URxH4EktqvI/AAAAAAAAEpk/tL2iu8MDZjY/3B03E9531CCD350D311671AEEF211731_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800"></p> <div class="blogger-post-footer">It's Sew Me

This photo is taken from our decking and as you can see it is very dry. We have finished feeding the last of the turnips and are continuing to feed out silage and palm kernel. </p> <p>Most of the North Island is under a total fire ban. Last week we had a hedge catch fire due to a overhead power wire snapping, thankfully the police were doing a routine drive(this was in the very early hours of Friday morning when everyone is tucked in their beds asleep) and noticed it before it got too out of hand… </p> <p>This afternoon we had a weird fog roll in off the sea which has now gone. I checked the weather forecast earlier and it looks like there could be rain on the horizon later in the week.</p> <p>Parts of the North Island have declared a drought, Hubby thinks it wont be long before we will be too.</p> <p>Unfortunately this doesn’t only affect the farmers but it also affects local businesses, as the farmers stop spending…</p> <p>In happier thoughts… I have been actually sewing, I can’t remember the last time I sewed! It’s been fun…:O) And I have also finished one project for the ‘drill a hole in it challenge’ with more in the pipeline! It seemed to be a weird title for a challenge but I have surprised myself with the possibilities… stay tuned…</p> <p>Blessings</p> <p><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" border="0" alt="3B03E9531CCD350D311671AEEF211731" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-YGqWuXPSv7A/URxH4EktqvI/AAAAAAAAEpk/tL2iu8MDZjY/3B03E9531CCD350D311671AEEF211731_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800"></p> <div class="blogger-post-footer">It's Sew Me

It’s one of those jobs that needs to be done with regularity… I never seem to be able to find the bottom of my laundry basket, especially with 4 teenagers in the house… This isn’t a whinge about having to actually do the laundry but rather about our latest KHS meeting, the challenge was… you guessed it… ‘the laundry’</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-GHnM3ME_yvc/UTp4RvFY4iI/AAAAAAAAEqk/vmub_JakPsM/s1600-h/DSC_5326%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="DSC_5326" border="0" alt="DSC_5326" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-cG8YX5G6jGM/UTp4T1b_CjI/AAAAAAAAEqs/k0GLMKxWrmI/DSC_5326_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="644" height="434"></a></p> <p>I had great plans to totally revamp my laundry room which is actually part of the garage, (I hate having it in the garage!) so what’s a girl to do but pretty it up… :O)</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-M_XFaxKzeME/UTp4Xj0lTfI/AAAAAAAAEq0/tgW8vjMTqm4/s1600-h/DSC_5325%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="DSC_5325" border="0" alt="DSC_5325" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-RgeEoYPIov8/UTp4Y-pMVeI/AAAAAAAAEq8/8tv4Rt0W4tk/DSC_5325_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="644" height="436"></a></p> <p>Unfortunately the last few weeks haven’t gone according to plan and I only managed to make a peg apron, but it’s a start. </p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-TyFs6nOnK5c/UTp4bkPJgQI/AAAAAAAAErE/9sbeb_-_QGY/s1600-h/DSC_5332%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="DSC_5332" border="0" alt="DSC_5332" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-r6M76Y5kjnQ/UTp4dZa0bZI/AAAAAAAAErM/aTDKbclIzfA/DSC_5332_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="582" height="484"></a></p> <p>So for now I’ll just have to admire my new apron…</p> <p>Once again <a href="http://allthingsrustyandfabric.blogspot.co.nz/">Michelle</a> spoilt us with a delicious lunch, Salmon patties and salad followed by banoffee pie served in wine glasses, very classy!</p> <p>I took a few photo’s with my phone but they didn’t turn out too great, I am sure <a href="http://allthingsrustyandfabric.blogspot.co.nz/">Michelle</a> will post better ones… <a href="http://allthingsrustyandfabric.blogspot.co.nz/">over here</a></p> <p>I got in trouble with the girls because I haven’t been blogging much, so I will endeavour to try and do so more often…:O)</p> <p>Back soon…</p> <p><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" border="0" alt="3B03E9531CCD350D311671AEEF211731" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-YGqWuXPSv7A/URxH4EktqvI/AAAAAAAAEpk/tL2iu8MDZjY/3B03E9531CCD350D311671AEEF211731_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800"></p> <p>PS Next month’s challenge is ‘Drill a hole in it’ </p> <div class="blogger-post-footer">It's Sew Me

Why do the holidays always fly by so fast? Here’s just a little collage of all the many things we packed into our week…</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-JBKc_LwfVxM/URDSKZ8ZTEI/AAAAAAAAElY/mKJDe_Erq0I/s1600-h/PicMonkey%252520Collage%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="PicMonkey Collage" border="0" alt="PicMonkey Collage" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-6zaV3iwmWCg/URDSM6hXO1I/AAAAAAAAElg/xxcDbkWyQC0/PicMonkey%252520Collage_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="754" height="754"></a></p> <p>The South Island is a beautiful place, we did the Tranz Alpine train trip and the scenery was amazing. We hiked up to Franz Josef glacier. We reached the very bottom of the South Island(Bluff) We stayed in some wonderful places, we even spent a night in Christchurch’s jailhouse! The girls did a horse trek at Lake Tekapo, the boys and Ruffles went quad biking at Picton. There was plenty of swimming at Lake Tekapo. We did a little shopping. We dined out almost every night. The last night of our trip, hubby had booked a Penthouse suite in Picton over looking the harbour (It was a real surprise, I thought he had booked something else!) I could quite easily have stayed another week there, stunning views, beautiful rooms, they even had a gym! (something I could really do with now after all that dining out!) We live in such a beautiful country! </p> <p>One of the highlights for me was being able to have lunch with Nicky and her girls from <a href="http://farmgirlstitching.blogspot.co.nz/2013/02/saturday-morning-with-friends.html">Farm Girl Stitching</a>…</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-Lv09Qw_IRx4/URDSPPtce0I/AAAAAAAAElo/ZvUFymfSUMs/s1600-h/4%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="4" border="0" alt="4" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-dc-pl2Ech54/URDSRIqb-OI/AAAAAAAAElw/blW61MEVvFg/4_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="704" height="704"></a></p> <p>Nicky is so lovely and so are her two beautiful daughters! It was a real treat to meet them. </p> <p>Thank you so much Nicky for the lovely gift and the fudge! The fudge didn’t last very long at all, it was long gone before we reached Dunedin…;o) And the fabrics are perfect thank you again! We have plans to head back to Dunedin in November so maybe we might be able catch up again and hopefully meet your hubby this time!</p> <p>We had such fabulous weather while we were away too, it was wonderful but very dry in places. We are very thankful to be having some much needed rain here yesterday and today, I hope the rest of the country is getting some too…</p> <p>It’s bed time for me(insert yawn here) </p> <p>Night night</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-yrelXRUCuzs/URDSSYsYKdI/AAAAAAAAEl4/tgkXGfv5_dQ/s1600-h/3B03E9531CCD350D311671AEEF211731%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="3B03E9531CCD350D311671AEEF211731" border="0" alt="3B03E9531CCD350D311671AEEF211731" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-1hGP3K3kiqM/URDSTqEzHGI/AAAAAAAAEmA/7xdqR4uUsXs/3B03E9531CCD350D311671AEEF211731_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="221" height="136"></a></p> <div class="blogger-post-footer">It's Sew Me

Well only one block but still it’s a start! I have been watching all the scrappy trip around the world quilts popping all over the place and wanted to make my own … so to speed up the process a bit I decided to use two jelly rolls, Ruby and a rainbow of solid prints… what do you think?</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-pMC8cKpTDcI/UQCEGFIwDBI/AAAAAAAAEjg/hE6KR5qqcVw/s1600-h/DSC_4500%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="DSC_4500" border="0" alt="DSC_4500" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-o8-ZXnOEDAM/UQCEHhCSfaI/AAAAAAAAEjo/18qWG_Hvif0/DSC_4500_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="675" height="450"></a></p> <p>I can’t decide if I want to continue down this path with the solids or go for all print fabric…thoughts please?</p> <p>And finally some photo’s of my ‘log cabin’ quilt I finished sometime last year…</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpCBMoWhj5EbHYpiC5Lsl_teZuzvPPqJrR7iuE5uEOkbx7UCm0LmQHKClFt5bz7AwumxDSJO-ZkBPYLO3cG50t2qG5wzFngcPYQbQNbTRhp7VroO7IrujdQSEwVgc491eH552tBfN1R0k/s1600-h/DSC_4480%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="DSC_4480" border="0" alt="DSC_4480" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-5H1aIbHYS10/UQCELRa8v2I/AAAAAAAAEj4/A63Vdow7Q2k/DSC_4480_thumb%25255B3%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="675" height="450"></a></p> <p>The colours in the photo above make the quilt look quite bright but the photo below is much more accurate…:O)</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-GRO4pakDoZs/UQCENdtI-oI/AAAAAAAAEkA/J7vPY7c_UwM/s1600-h/DSC_4494%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="DSC_4494" border="0" alt="DSC_4494" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-JxXphDcYSXA/UQCEO6a40MI/AAAAAAAAEkI/R7-Q8sLkhUE/DSC_4494_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="675" height="450"></a></p> <p>Please ignore the hairless doll on my bed I sit her there to remind me I need to finish her!</p> <p>I better get back to the holiday preparations…write out list for relief milker’s and house sitters… finish the laundry, pack the bags…Oh and I must remember to pack some stitching to take with with me…</p> <p>Hugs and Smiles…</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-GPHrOSHQG40/UQCEP0ws24I/AAAAAAAAEkM/4jliJbX8QKA/s1600-h/Pinkrosesignature%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Pinkrosesignature" border="0" alt="Pinkrosesignature" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-RoEihCXaBxk/UQCERHNxV8I/AAAAAAAAEkY/dcGWg4jFVKQ/Pinkrosesignature_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="221" height="136"></a></p> <div class="blogger-post-footer">It's Sew Me

I am so not used to late nights anymore…Thursday night I met a new friend(Hi Nicole!) at Nicky’s who also happens to be my neighbour! We chatted and stitched/glued/knitted and ate until the very early hours of Friday morning, we didn’t realise it was so late, honest!!! </p> <p>Today’s plans are to get some housework done and then head on over to the new school for a working bee…we are also getting a little excited only a week to go before we leave on our little family holiday adventure to the South Island… :O) </p> <p>Smiles and Blessings</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-z22kUSXLhhY/UPmwn48QPlI/AAAAAAAAEic/coqyzz0Mn7E/s1600-h/Pinkrosesignature%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Pinkrosesignature" border="0" alt="Pinkrosesignature" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-CeAWqCRL4cY/UPmwpdbgn-I/AAAAAAAAEik/Ze5QK7b9iH0/Pinkrosesignature_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="221" height="136"></a></p> <div class="blogger-post-footer">It's Sew Me

I had to leave a little too early and head home to milk and start the birthday preparations… The next day after milking and making the birthday cake(which was a red bull cake by the way) I headed to the Waitara river mouth to await the arrival of my boys…80 to 100kms later…</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-hpYVhYCr__I/UPPFYkIiKiI/AAAAAAAAEa0/yA1R9HnyJJw/s1600-h/DSC_4242%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="DSC_4242" border="0" alt="DSC_4242" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-6XMIpcnZNmo/UPPFaQx5t0I/AAAAAAAAEa8/j7uIAgg52ag/DSC_4242_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="379" height="254"></a> <a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-1gf86z9OfLI/UPPFcBRJlfI/AAAAAAAAEbE/3zlH2_vYm4Q/s1600-h/DSC_4249%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="DSC_4249" border="0" alt="DSC_4249" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-0cswv0jzGEM/UPPFevMrz2I/AAAAAAAAEbM/B29jShj2pkQ/DSC_4249_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="379" height="254"></a></p> <p>worn and tired…</p> <p> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihgotf-Lw3ucMc8ykAhrZ5syGvuOrEomP7A7NXpUekgM1X4uHAgoosk9nX_kmYScS3Lnudr1849n81TUWsLLlyjHmb5E65WsXJh3ENUFlNpgBrN9_hDusg0sjQimjbwRDWmrl6dsSqCIo/s1600-h/DSC_4240%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="DSC_4240" border="0" alt="DSC_4240" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-X1wWzWPj6OU/UPPFiQ7pUVI/AAAAAAAAEbc/AtT0xx5RhsA/DSC_4240_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="337" height="504"></a> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0JF3Litsj2cLHGfz-nXBqeIz-qL3Btrz2R4gHjbx4SVyWj00lInckuHCczMKt2BbK_i3A7bMSnCnI978K81K_c0gtnVZNgjJV62Ma4BGuxXlgD6s0lO0mx_CBwGpmBYl3_q1jDX-ACpQ/s1600-h/DSC_4245%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="DSC_4245" border="0" alt="DSC_4245" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-W-08cOe_n3s/UPPFl8sKV5I/AAAAAAAAEbs/3TTMZK7efrM/DSC_4245_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="337" height="504"></a></p> <p>but already planning their next trip!</p> <p>If you’ve read all the way to the end of this post you’ve done well… </p> <p>Back soon…</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-sAqSVnh7HzI/UPdBeKjO4nI/AAAAAAAAEf4/I-xn-CmXa1c/s1600-h/3B03E9531CCD350D311671AEEF211731%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="3B03E9531CCD350D311671AEEF211731" border="0" alt="3B03E9531CCD350D311671AEEF211731" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-xge0Y8hgric/UPdBfW1_P7I/AAAAAAAAEf8/8vcs-q0NPfg/3B03E9531CCD350D311671AEEF211731_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="221" height="136"></a></p> <div class="blogger-post-footer">It's Sew Me

I don’t have any real excuse for being away so long, suffice to say life has been busy and I just felt my time was better spent on other things… family, friends and just life in general really… But I have had a couple of sweet online friends(you know who you are) require about my whereabouts so I thought I would drop a line or two to let you know all is well…:O)</p> <p>The above photo was taken last weekend at The Festival of Lights in New Plymouth, where we met with a group of friends and had a fun night with the kids. Today we met with some other friends and visited Stoney Oaks wildlife park…</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-JdK3o6kqF88/UOfR2N498fI/AAAAAAAAEUw/iEp48D-nzkQ/s1600-h/DSC_4204%25255B16%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; Though I’m sure it’ll be back into school mode before we know it. </p> <p>I have been working on a few crafty things as well, I finished the log cabin quilt… finally! I have been knitting a few dishcloths in my down time to give out as gifts throughout the year, and I’m in the process of making this months ‘Shabby’ or ‘Prim’ project for our group the ‘Kindred Heart Stitchers’. </p> <p>I have more to share but that can wait for another day…</p> <p>Many Blessings</p> <p><font size="7">Michelle</font></p> <div class="blogger-post-footer">It's Sew Me

Lol The square in the middle of the bowties is 3d and I love how the quilting makes the bowties pop! At the beginning of the year the KHS sat around and wrote out five things they wanted to finish in 2012 and this was one of Claire’s, I think she may have nearly completed all five things on her list! As for ME well I still have a little way to go yet… I have only completed one! But as soon as I push the publish button I plan to go and work on my Dresden Plate quilt, that’s on my list, Yay!</p> <p>This weekend is our local A&P Show, with a Christmas Parade tomorrow night, the kids all have big plans for the weekend so I might be able to sneak in some more sewing time…:O)</p> <p>Enjoy your weekend… Oh here’s a quick pic of Pip enjoying the sunshine and the sprinkler</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-_2NyVztEyYM/UKQhBZriITI/AAAAAAAAETs/fzuBXQpOKy0/s1600-h/2012-11-08_11-52-41_908%25255B7%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="2012-11-08_11-52-41_908" border="0" alt="2012-11-08_11-52-41_908" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-R_0RVaJUc-A/UKQhC2zmtQI/AAAAAAAAETw/LJ0KFfm9TnI/2012-11-08_11-52-41_908_thumb%25255B4%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="871" height="587"></a></p> <p>She is now free to go where she pleases, and she loves my flower garden. Yesterday I left the front door open and she waddled inside, I was worried she would start flapping her wings and fly…Could you imagine!!! Eek… Anyway Jesse and I managed to persuade her to waddle right back outside again thankfully with no incidents… Message to self remember to shut the screen door!</p> <p>Blessings</p> <p><font size="7">Michelle</font></p> <p><font size="4">PS The other quilt in the photo, the yoyo quilt I am pretty sure Claire bought of TradeMe..:o)</font></p> <p><font size="4"></font></p> <div class="blogger-post-footer">It's Sew Me

Well today was our monthly Kindred Heart Stitchers day At Claire’s and she dubbed as all her Pinnie Pigs for the day. She had chosen all her recipes form ‘Pinterest’ hence the Pinnie instead of Guinea… and guess what I forgot to take photo’s of it all! She made her favourite bread recipe(this one didn’t come from Pinterest) and a delicious hot and spicy dip, I must say I went back for a few too many servings as I had trouble fitting in lunch!
