Christmas Wishes…

Just dropping in to wish all my blog friends a wonderful fun filled holiday season…

Don’t forget to step back from all the hustle and bustle and find time to make some new memories to cherish…

Remember it won’t matter if your house isn’t perfect… if you don’t get the latest gadget…

Just enjoy what you do have and those around you and you’ll have the most wonderful time…

I will be taking a blogging break… to really focus on my family and their needs… and I’ll be back sometime in the New Year!

Shabby lounge room…

I thought I would treat you all to a peek at my friend Claire’s new lounge room…the Kindred Heart Stitchers popped in for a visit to see the newly decorated room earlier this week… it is amazing… it went from this…sorry Nicky it was the only photo I had that  kinda shows what it looked like before…

See the dark walls and the wood panels… well now it looks like this…

Isn’t it beautiful… I’ll let the photo’s speak for themselves…

I could quite happily while away the hours here with a cuppa or two…

And I better not forget a photo of the beautiful tree that Nancy made just for me…

Catching up…

I’m back… a bit later than planned, but life’s a little busy at the moment… as I’m sure it is for everyone… so where was I? That’s right… Family Camp… As a Church we have an annual camp and it is so good to get away for a few days of fun and fellowship around the Word… At the end of the weekend it is hard to leave our little sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the world… it has taken me a few days to catch up on sleep… well to tell the truth I had a little nap with my niece this afternoon Ok so what else has been happening… Monday was our Kindred Heart Stitchers Christmas party… we each made some Cookies to share…

We also made a decoration for someone, mine was for my Mum :o) but I forgot to take a photo of it… hopefully tomorrow I will take a photo of the one Nancy made for me…  Nicky made a delicious hot dip baked inside a bread crust for starters and a lasagne for lunch… mmmmmm! Then we went on a tour of her beautiful home…

This cot has been made into a sofa for her girls room… clever idea!

And doesn’t this chair look inviting… very sweet

This cute cabinet has been repurposed into extra storage for her bathroom…  I am not sure why but I didn’t actually take many pictures of her home I think I was to busy oohing and aahing … Lol If you would like to see more Michelle has some more on her blog…

The rest of the week has been taken up with end of school activities and such… and as of this afternoon we are now in holiday mode… yeah!

Craft Fair Goodies…

I’m back to share a few of my goodies I bought at the craft fair during the weekend, I can’t show you everything because some of them are for gifts! This is my favourite purchase of the day…

I would really like to learn how to do mosaics… I have several chipped/cracked plates waiting in the car shed for just such a project :o) Have you made anything?

I also found this cute little needle holder, perfect for travelling…

This is my new friend Nicky’s stall…the following photo’s were taken on my new phone and I think they turned out great…

Nicky was selling wax smellies for candle burners… I just had to get one of each ;o) and they smell so lovely… I bought a couple of pretties from her for gifts too… :O)

Olivia and I enjoyed an icecream for lunch in the rose garden…

It is looking very pretty this time of year…

The week is flying past so fast… it’s been pretty busy, lot’s happening but not much sewing :O( I wont be posting again for a week or so… we have a family camp this weekend that I need to prepare for and Monday is our Kindred Heart Stitchers group that I need to prepare for and Wednesday is School Prize Giving and the end of year concert… Whew I’m tired just thinking about it!

That’s My Girl!…

Yesterday my daughter Ruth competed in the Taranaki All Breeds Show for the first time… and came home with all these ribbons! That’s my girl… :OD

I am so proud of her! I just had to write a little post ;O) Here she is back in ‘Poppy’s’ stall giving her a well deserved treat…

She got 4 first places, 3 second places, a third place and a reserved Champion! Here’s an action shot…

She did so well… my daughter has had no professional training, she is totally self taught…

I will be back later to share what I got up to over the weekend…

A WIP…

Today I worked on this WIP I started last week…

It’s called Hot Cross… from Carrie Nelson’s ‘Schnibbles times two’ book…

It just needs the outer pieced border… but I have to wait for the rest of the charm squares to arrive in the post ;o) While I was taking this photo I thought I would show you some of my Petunia’s in the tyres…

They really seem to like it in there… :O) Today has been such a lovely day… the sun is shining and there is a gentle breeze blowing… just wonderful! DH and the kids went down to the beach leaving me to sew in peace… while DH caught us fresh fish for tea… and it’s Friday… wonderful… and tomorrow I am going to the annual Arts in the Park… there will be lot’s of craft stalls… food… and fun! What’s happening in your little corner of the world today?
