Road Trip

Our road trip didn't take us up Mt Taranaki but instead we travelled East along the Forgotten World Highway...

The only Kiwi(native to New Zealand) we saw was this one, they are a nocturnal bird, shy and indangered...

I love autumn, the colours are stunning...

We meandered away round bend and turns, through several tunnels...

We drove through a small village steeped in history, like driving through another era...

On and on we travelled...

Finally we arrived at our destination, we bundled up for the 20 minute walk... Mt Damper Falls, it was actually raining:)

Homeward bound, we just had to stop and take a photo of these...
Hope you enjoyed the little scenic tour, alas there where no quilt shops on this road trip but tonight is the Cinnamon Lodge(my favourite shop) quilting group...

These photos made me homesick (and I aren't even a Kiwi...lol). Memories of those wooden fence posts looking like a paling fence when they are really just droppers. Here in OZ they are 30 yards apart!!!).
Hugs,
