Are you ever at a loss for quick and easy handmade gift ideas? Every year I have big ideas about making all my family members and special friends something for their special day! Only to find that day fast approaching and all my inspiration and ideas have flown out the window and I’m left scrambling. Then the inevitable happens and I just end up going out and buying something. Does that ever happen to you?
Well I have decided to collate a list of ideas I can refer to for inspiration. I would also like to invite you to join me, just leave a comment below with your idea/ideas and in doing so you will be entered into the giveaway! I haven’t decided what the giveaway will be just yet but it will include something handmade!
Then I will share the list with all of you(hopefully as a PDF) for you to print off and use. So you will all end up being winners!!!

Hello Michelle,
A great idea to get organised, I was reminded today by my Mum that it is my Sister's Birthday this month. Keeping a list throughout the year is a great idea. If you have overseas friends or relatives you could make something in beautiful Kiwi fabrics. I think journal covers are a great gift, for a gardener you could make those garden gloves with the sleeve protectors. Placemats or coasters are useful. Good luck with your List.

Now you've got me thinking - pencil rolls are quick and easy for kids or teacher gifts, simple strippy table runners. I haven't tried any, but I've seen lots of mug rugs around lately.
Oh Yes Mug Rugs are such a great gift idea. I have given a few to friends with a matching Mug.
For Xmas last year I made lots of Xmas table runners as gifts.
Cup cozy and a matching coaster,giftcard/reward card purse,
needle book
That list could go on forever

For her baby shower, besides the requisite quilt, I made a matching pillow cover AND what I call a bottle rug. Funny, when I was last at her house, she was using both! When it's a baby it is a bottle rug, yet for adult, mug rug. Received one as a gift and I love it. There are so many good ideas for quilty gifts. Cheers!
Wow Michelle I love that table runner,I have plenty of bright idea's but often a lack of time or motivation or both.But I like the idea of mug rugs you can never have enough or quilted cosmetic bags or wash bags they make lovely gifts sometimes with a little bought treat inside.

I like to have some spare hand towels at home and for a gift in a hurry I sew strips of matchng fabrics or if using white hand towels which I use a lot for females, use florals or yo yos and sew them on. Always well received. Another idea is to buy a plain full apron from somewhere like the warehouse and put a pretty pocket on it. All quick and don't cost much either.
For children, I love the crayon aprons, rollups and mommy/daughter aprons.
I also love making the burp towels and matching blankies for new babies or mom's to be.
Quilted purses seem to be my most favorite thing to make right now. I love them.
And of course we can't forget the adorable pillowcases that are being made now. They can be personalized and everyone seems to love those.

This year I am really trying to get a head start on some hand made gifts. I learned how to crochet a few months ago and have began a scarf. I plan to make more. :o)

I too have decided to make a lot of pressies this year. My son is on his own now, so I'm going repurpose fabric from old shirts, etc into pillow covers for his sofa.
I'm also embroidering on repurposed fabric for some cute and inexpensive wall decorations.
