Something in the air…

I have lots of photo’s to share with you today… prepare to be inspired… On Tuesday we had our monthly crafty girls day at Claire’s… we have finally decided upon a name(I think) ‘Kindred Hearts Stitchers’ because we all like the same things… quilting, crafting, decorating, thrifting, cooking, being home makers…:o) Our challenge project was to make something out of one of the Tilda books… I drew the short straw and started off  the show and tell… but since this is going to be a long post I’ll share mine next time ;O)

Michelle made these gorgeous Christmas decorations and stockings…

They are not quite finished but aren’t they cute and that rose fabric is gorgeous! Her son made the wooden skate for her, clever lad.

Nicky joined in the fun this time too and she has two adorable little girls! She brought along a couple of her creations to share and some of her thrifting treasures…

A plate stand made from pretty plates and vases with a sweet porcelain doll as the cherry on the top.  Below she also made the wooden bobbin candle holder, very clever…

The rest are her latest thrifting finds, a vase, a candle holder(with an embroidered base) and a wee trinket box. The suitcases in the background are Claire’s :o)

Claire’s ‘Tilda’ project was this gorgeous jewellery mannequin can you spot it?

Let’s go in for a closer look…

DSC_1071 (400 x 600)

She used a two tiered cake plate for the base, great idea for displaying bits and pieces! Then she lead us on a little tour of her house…even though we have visited many times before there is always something new to see! I think she has a little bit of spring fever, she has been cleaning out the linen closet and just look at the result…

DSC_1074 (400 x 600)

Just beautiful… and everything in it’s place…we all agreed she needs new doors with latticed windows so she can admire them every time she walks past!

DSC_1077 (600 x 400)

Each pile is wrapped in a pretty ribbon and labelled…

Then she showed off her pantry…

DSC_1072 (400 x 600)

Mine would never stay this tidy ;o)… and all the jars have Cath Kidston labels!

And then when she starts to tap her fingers together and says “I have a cunning plan” you know you can expect to see her create something special…

DSC_1091 (400 x 600)

A hurricane lamp wrapped up in a lovely old doiley…

DSC_1092 (400 x 600)

Now isn’t that clever?  And a just because photo of her vintage guest bedroom…

DSC_1090 (600 x 400)

I want to make this quilt… :O) I also want one of these…

DSC_1086 (400 x 600)

Isn’t it gorgeous? The heat from the candles make the whirligig spin…

Our new challenge is to make something to do with hearts, it can be anything as long as it has a heart on it…

After a day like this we all go home feeling so inspired to create…

What inspires you?

Michelle
