A lazy Saturday…

My day started off  with the best kind of mail :O) I won a giveaway from Lara at Sew Many Stitches Later there was a lot of oohing and aahing  coming out of my kitchen when I opened it that everyone came running to see too!

Lara picked out the prettiest fat quarters for me, some cute ribbons, some needles(always need these) and made the cutest little pincushion and just look at these cute magnets…

I am sew happy with my goodies, thank you Lara!

Yesterday we had visitors for lunch and they bought us a lovely big bunch of rhubarb…

Rhubarb crumble for pudding tonight… Yum! And I’m sure there will be plenty left to have some on my breakfast in the morning!

I finished sewing down the binding on this baby quilt today and it was impossible to take a photo outside as you can see… we have had so much wind this week, great for the washing but not much else…

So we attempted an inside shot…

Not much better I’m afraid… here’s a close up of the quilting and the colour is a bit better… I will try and take some better photo’s next week ;O)

So that’s another UFO I can tick off the list!

I have also picked some hydrangeas for drying…

DSC_1593 (400 x 600)

I dipped the ends in boiling water to seal them before putting them in cold water this is supposed to stop them from going droopy…We’ll see…

Well it’s that time of day again… I better go cook the family some dinner, steak on the BBQ tonight nice and easy… the perfect way to end a lazy day…

Oh I am so pleased you like your little parcel :) I had lots of fun putting it together! It's been windy here too but today has been quite pleasant and very sunny. Hoping to get some sewing in tonight while I watch the election results.

Your mail looks lovely and your quilt is gorgeous, very pretty colours and very pretty quilting too! It's been really windy here too, as you say, great for washing but not much else!

This doesn't look too lazy to me, sounds like a battle with the wind! Lovely win, it is exciting when that happens. Your quilt is lovely and soft and feminine, your quilting looks great!
Are the magnets covered buttons?

Oh nice goodies in the mail.
LOL you did have fun trying to take a photo of the pretty baby quilt.
I would not know how to cook a bbq. It has always been a man's job round here.

Sounds like a lovely day - your giveaway win is great. Hasn't the baby quilt turned out well? In spite of the wind and the light, it looks gorgeous - and lovely quilting on it too.

Hello Michelle,

Such a lovely post. You will love using those needles, it will just glide through the material. Your quilt is divine, love the shot of the hiding child!!! Glad to see you using a Agee jar for your vase, it looks lovely with the hydrangeas in.
Happy days.

It seems it's windy everywhere at the moment. The baby quilt is so soft and pretty and I do like the quilting design.
I'm a little envious of that big pot of rhubarb! I'm waiting for mine to grow a bit more before I can pick it again.
