Weather Bomb…

What an introduction to Autumn… As many of you know we haven’t really had a summer, I’m not really a hot summer kind of girl so this hasn’t bothered me too much… but Autumn has made a grand entrance…

From no snow to lot’s of snow over the weekend… after a very severe weather bomb hit the North Island… South Taranaki was hit particularly hard…

We are all safe :O) and our house is fine but many lost their roofs, we lost four or five buildings on our farm, and had no power for 36 hours. All animals are safe and accounted for and we were able to milk this morning thanks to someone who lent us a generator… there are many lines and power poles still down…

We lost our back fence and part of our wood shed…

Stefan’s kayak was around the back of the house… ;O) And my garden is pretty much ruined… and that’s OK! We are all safe and that’s the main thing! Tomorrow we will start the clean up… I have felt very blessed through it all, we had family and friends who have helped out in different ways (Thanks for the pie Nicky it was delicious:O) Things might continue to be a little quiet on my blog for a wee while but when I come back I hope to be able to share a few projects I have been working on… Until then

Keep Smiling…

Michelle

Argh Michelle - sometimes we don't realise just how stable our weather is here. So glad you're all okay (including the animals). Looks like it'll be quite some work to get cleared up though. xx

Ow, that's nasty and a rude introduction to the changing seasons. So pleased you're all ok. Did you manage to rig up a generator for milking or did the poor girls have to wait...?

Oh Michelle! I am so sorry :( - Taranaki sure got hit hard! We were very lucky and escaped most of the force of the weather but wow it has been so cold. Hope you get some lovely sunshine this week!

I'm so glad you and your family are all OK! But sorry you lost so many buildings.
I pray no more 'weather bombs' come your way!

Hello Michelle,

Sounds like a awful time. Hope the garden mends itself and the sheds are soon fixed. Happy days.
