I don’t know about you but I hate to throw my selvages away, most of them are pretty in their own right. I had been saving them for a few years just waiting for that perfect project to come along :O) A few months back Amandajean from crazymomquilts shared this tutorial, and I knew I wanted to make one too… so out come the selvages and ta da…
It looks great in my kitchen! Even DH kinda likes it :O)
During the week I made a few small changes in my kitchen, changed things around a wee bit and created this beautiful vignette…
It makes me smile every time I see it! The cake stand was from a very dear friend, the teacups from an antique shop(I have had them a while) and the cloche is a $10 hurricane lamp from the Warehouse! Oh and the rose is from Katherine @ Wishing Well flowers. Thanks Katherine(Hope the shift goes well)
Today is not the most pleasant of days, but a good day to spend in front of the fire. My boys, DH included are going paintballing this afternoon as part of my son Michael’s 16th birthday celebrations. Please pray for my boys, (well all of us really) they have an awful cough that we just cant shake…
I plan to catch up on some house work this morning and hopefully relax and do some crafting this afternoon… I hope you have a lovely weekend planned…
Blessings’
Michelle

Lovely Michelle :)
The rug looks great - are you still collecting?? (white ones this time)
Your new additions look great.
Enjoy your quiet afternoon and I hope all get well soon.
Hello Michelle,
Oh you are so clever to knit that with your selvages. Love your creation you made. The good old Wharehouse comes to the rescue!!! That place is a shoppers paradise.
Happy days.
Bev.xoxo
Of course you are all always in my prayers. You are so clever, I love the rug, brilliant result. I have a friend who does things with selvedges so she gets mine - she might have fewer now!! The plate stand, cups, roses is so pretty, where do you get your ideas? I always think I'll rearrange things frequently but then just leave them as they are from one season to the next, very boring, must try harder! Have a lovely weekend and I hope those coughs go soon (Al also suffering with one, seems worldwide, he got his in Malta!)
I love your vignette, I need to drag out some of my antique tea cups, I have a big glass vase that would work the same as yours.
Love the rug, I still have a big bag of selvedges saved up for you, but maybe I should make myself one? Was it quick to make?
Good luck with the boys cough, would Tiger balm rubbed on his chest help?
It was my birthday on Friday, what date is your son's?
Your selvedge rug is lovely, such a great idea and I love your pretty vignette! Sorry to hear your family are unwell, you are in my thoughts and prayers, Wendy xx
I've just had a lovely read back through your posts - gosh you have been busy with all your decorating and gardening projects - all so lovely. Hope those bugs go away soon. Your selvedges look so good all knitted up - well done - waste not want not!!
Well, I never really saved them before, but now I do. I doubt I'll do anything with them but give them away, but that way someone else can enjoy them!
Hope your men are feeling better!
Hi Michelle
I love your rug.. I collect my selvages. What a great idea for them. Thanks for the link.
I hope you have a great day.
Hugs
