One day and a change of plans…

As I shared in my last post I started making these teeny weeny blocks for the Temecula Summer Star Quilt a long and they are really quite cute, but the other night I had a thought and one thing lead to another and well I have changed my plans slightly… I have been wanting to make a runner for my hutch out of  blue and white fabrics for quite some time(like two years!) and as you can see from this photo I have started…DSC_3383

I am just doing a plain centre as I need a few of these little stars (they finish at 4”)

The fabrics are from the Blueberry Crumb Cake range.

Hopefully this one will be done soon…

Tomorrow my Mum is coming and she is going to teach me to crochet, I have been wanting to learn for years and tomorrows the day! See sometimes ‘One day’ does happen…:O)

I quickly snuck into the wool shop this afternoon to pick up a few balls of cheap wool to practice with, then went to the library to pick up Miss Ruffles and Michael where I just happened to spy this book ‘Granny Square Love’  perfect timing…:O)

I also plan to make a ‘Granny Square’ Quilt, I have the fabrics(Flower sugar and maybe a few other favourite scraps thrown into the mix) chosen but am having trouble choosing what colour to use for the outside triangles/sashing, I am torn between white or …red.  I am not sure if the red will overpower it too much, I may have to make up a block before I decide.

Better go finish dinner, roast beef, roast vegetables and some Kale fresh from the garden…

Enjoy your weekend…

You couldn't find any more perfect colours for the runner, it will match your lovely china beautifully. You lucky girl, learning to crochet, another thing I too want to learn 'one day'! Have a lovely day tomorrow with your Mum....

What a great idea - the runner will look beautiful with your dresser and all your gorgeous china. What fun to learn how to crochet - I would love to make a 'ripple rug' that I have seen on some blogs so must pull out my hooks one day... hopefully my 'one day' will come too!
