In amongst holiday preparations I have managed to squeeze in time to start a new quilt. Well only one block but still it’s a start! I have been watching all the scrappy trip around the world quilts popping all over the place and wanted to make my own … so to speed up the process a bit I decided to use two jelly rolls, Ruby and a rainbow of solid prints… what do you think?
I can’t decide if I want to continue down this path with the solids or go for all print fabric…thoughts please?
And finally some photo’s of my ‘log cabin’ quilt I finished sometime last year…
The colours in the photo above make the quilt look quite bright but the photo below is much more accurate…:O)
Please ignore the hairless doll on my bed I sit her there to remind me I need to finish her!
I better get back to the holiday preparations…write out list for relief milker’s and house sitters… finish the laundry, pack the bags…Oh and I must remember to pack some stitching to take with with me…
Hugs and Smiles…

Like the mix with solids. I also plan to start the scrappy trip around the world. Fabric cut and sewing this afternoon. :)
yes I also like the mix of solids and prints...so far I have resisted starting that quilt...
LOL Poor doll...
It looks fantastic, I love the solids with it! The whole scrappy trip thing has gone completely viral hasn't it, it does look fun......
Love the log cabin quilt too, very pretty. Safe travels....
I too like the mix you have with the Trip around the World.
The log cabin looks great, as does the bald doll!
Happy adventures!
I'm not always a big fan of solids but this combo looks great. Those Scrappy Trips have quite a strong pull...I started one too.
I like to combination of prints and solids in your scrappy trip around the world block.
Your block is lovely and I love your log cabin quilt - gorgeous and beautiful quilting. Hope you have a wonderful holiday.
Love the look of the solid and prints. The log cabin looks great-please bring to next KHS so I can have a close up. Hope the holiday is going well.

Hi
I'm visiting from Nicky's blog.
I love your Colour combination. Stick with it!
I made one of these quilts a few years ago. What fun. I remember I started after work one night and couldn't stop until I had made enough blocks for a quilt. I donated the quilt to Taupo Quiltmakers Community quilts and sadly don't have a photo.
After I sign off I am joining your blog as a follower.
Cheers
Linda
