Pink and green...
I mentioned in an earlier post about a friend and I helping a group of ladies from our church to make a Raggy Quilt, well here is Kate's one...
I hate how photo's never do a quilt justice! As you can see from these two the colours are sooo different, the top one shows the truer colours. I also love seeing the variations one quilt pattern, made my different people, can create!

Red Rose...
This is the second little red rose I have stitched, the first was appliqued onto a bag for a swap I was in. Oh how I wanted to keep it, how I hummed and ha'd, but then I thought 'silly me' why not make two!

The day after...
The day after the Friday Night Sew-In and this is all I have to show for myself...
Ten little lavender heart sachets, for all the wonderful helpers I had whilst shifting! I also plan to make a double batch of fudge for them today too!
Yesterday I helped a friend shift(it must be something in the air!) they live near New Plymouth and being I was sooo close to Spotlight and they were having a 20% off sale...
Bought for no particular rhyme or reason, apart from the fact Iwanted needed them! :D
Oh and I couldn't resist these little pretties either...
Enjoy your day!

blobbing, um I mean blogging...
I have been playing around with my blog this afternoon and have fallen for this gorgeous new look!!!
She even has black hair like me!!! I am just letting you know!!! I am rather camera shy, so that is why there is no photo of me anywhere!!! I wouldn't want to scare anyone away!
And don't forget tomorrow night is Sew-In night, what have you got planned???

A little finish...
I am so pleased with this quilt, I love the texture of the straight line quilting
(it was washed and dried before adding the yoyo's)

Are you sitting down...
It's definitely not normal for me to post twice in one day but I felt DS1 needed a post all of his own! Anyway whats constitutes as 'normal'? I don't think our family could be classed as normal, anything but!!! Some in our family may beg to differ but I know better! So let me continue on with 'Let me fill you in'...
As you saw from the previous post, Bear Bear and I have been shopping, first off we needed to buy something to warm his little paws as the weather here has been awful, (as I look out the window, I can see great big black thunderous clouds approaching) lot's of snow on the mountain, and lots of wind and rain!!! Just look at this photo...
(Great for the ducks)
(And some randomness thrown in for good measure!)
The mittens were not the only thing on our shopping list, Bear Bear needed to do a little shopping for his next host(I wonder where he will be heading next) so off we went to Cinnamon Lodge...
Bear Bear chose some lovely pressies, but he made me promise not to show them here! So make sure you follow Bear Bear's journey here... bearbearhomestead.blogspot.com
Not sure if I mention about the group of ladies from church who were interested in making a quilt, my friend Bev and I decided we would teach them how to make a raggy quilt. Here they are cutting out their squares...
(that's Bev in the middle)
One lady was so inspired when she got home she decided to try out a smaller project just to see what the colours she chose would look like and whipped up a little jacket for her daughter and a matching bag! I hope to have photo's of all the finished quilts soon.
The sun has just poked it's rays through the clouds and shining onto the sofa in the corner, time to make myself a cuppa and settle in with a bit of stitching, and just maybe I will have a finish to show you tomorrow!
Where did it go...
Where did Friday go? I know I said I would be back but it just didn't happen, you see yesterday I was left wondering where the last fourteen years went! This cute little lad that used to keep me on my toes with all the escapades he got up to...
Is turning into this handsome, charming young man...
Yes he still keeps me on my toes with all the things he gets up to, but he is also lots of fun to be around and I'm proud to not only call him my 'son' but my 'friend' as well.

Let me fill you in...
Oh but where to start, the last several weeks have been chock-a-block full of busyness!
Ok maybe I should just go through things in the order they happened... Lets see...
It might look like a war zone but this is shifting 101. And Bear Bear did a fantastic job of
keeping everyone in order...
Don't ya just love his new mittens? But I digress where were we? Umm... oh that's right... we are now in our new home, and it is very warm and cozy compared to our previous home, which was a rather large old homestead. This is our new view from the back decking, my bedroom/sewing room and lounge...
And this one is taken from the dining area/kitchen...
I will be back tomorrow with more on what I've been up to...
