The past week or so has disappeared in a blur, I don’t have much to share that’s really blog worthy… oh hang on a sec maybe I do… though I have no pictures to share. But on Tuesday Claire, Nicky and I went to Patea, a wee town 20 minutes south of Hawera to see a soap making demonstration, the soaps smelled good enough to eat especially with names like ‘Black Raspberry and Vanilla’ and ‘Clementine Cupcakes’(this is the soap we made, and we have made plans to go back and get some in three weeks when it’s had time to cure:O) And you can’t make a trip to Patea without visiting an antique shop and have lunch at a local cafe. Claire had heard the pharmacy was also a good place to visit, so we popped in to have a nosy, they had lot’s of lovely goodies there… I bought some Cath Kidston cloths(which I have plans for and does not involve anything to do with cleaning :O), and a pretty pink stool.
The trunk below was a result of last weekends jaunt (or was it the weekend before last?) to the old museum and the cream can I bought from the antique shop in Patea…
No crafting has been done but I did find ten minutes to make a terrarium something I have been wanting to do for some time. I started with this lovely old jar that belonged to one of DH’s grandmothers and after a visit to the $2 shop for some pretty rocks…
I think I added a little too much potting mix, but I’m happy with it. The jar still lives on top of my hutch…
It is Queens Birthday weekend here in New Zealand, I don’t have anything much planned apart from staying home all day! Miss Ruffles schedule has been keeping me busy, I can’t wait until she gets her licence, I was out 3 times on Friday and 5 times on Thursday! Not all for Miss Ruffles but the majority is… I do plan to do a blog post to fill you all in on what she is up too… soon. DH has been away quite a bit in the last few weeks as well, last weekend he was at a trial bike ride then he was away for a few days helping friends shift, and yesterday and today he is at church, they are doing a recording. DH plays the bass at church and the musician's are recording an instrumental CD. Monday our school is having a BBQ fundraiser, and yes I am supposed to be helping out with that too… I woke this morning with no voice… well I can squeak a little bit

Lovely goodies you have your plants in, terrariums are so cool, I had one going for years, must get the girls to help me start another one. I hope you've found some 'me' time, and that you have your voice back again, my kids would find that hilarious too!!
