A Quilt Story…

A couple of my readers asked about the quilt in the background of this photo, from my last post

The bowtie quilt was made by Claire, she started making this quilt 16 years ago…

Isn’t it sweet, I love it… but I digress…  the quilt had sat around in various stages of progress for the last 16 years and was only completed a month or so ago…:oD I haven’t even been quilting that long! Lol The square in the middle of the bowties is 3d and I love how the quilting makes the bowties pop!  At the beginning of the year the KHS sat around and wrote out five things they wanted to finish in 2012 and this was one of Claire’s, I think she may have nearly completed all five things on her list! As for ME well I still have a little way to go yet… I have only completed one! But as soon as I push the publish button I plan to go and work on my Dresden Plate quilt, that’s on my list, Yay!

This weekend is our local A&P Show, with a Christmas Parade tomorrow night, the kids all have big plans for the weekend so I might be able to sneak in some more sewing time…:O)

Enjoy your weekend… Oh here’s a quick pic of Pip enjoying the sunshine and the sprinkler

She is now free to go where she pleases, and she loves my flower garden. Yesterday I left the front door open and she waddled inside, I was worried she would start flapping her wings and fly…Could you imagine!!! Eek… Anyway Jesse and I managed to persuade her to waddle right back outside again thankfully with no incidents… Message to self remember to shut the screen door!

Blessings

Michelle

PS The other quilt in the photo, the yoyo quilt I am pretty sure Claire bought of TradeMe..:o)
